Biographical Statement

Kieran completed his MMath in mathematics at Aberystwyth University. During his masters he was able to conduct research on bespoke projects in statistics and magnetohydrodynamics. These projects were ‘Towards a Quantitative Statistical Model of Political Extremism’ and ‘How the Twisting Nature of the Solar Wind Affects its Acceleration: A Mathematician’s Perspective’ where he considered the factors which could be catalysts for terrorist incidents and the acceleration problem within the solar wind, respectively. These projects allowed him to develop interests in various areas of mathematics, which can be continued in MIGSAA. Outside of mathematics he runs a photography page (https://m.facebook.com/Quainesphotography/) as well playing sports such as football and golf.
