Interests:
I am a mathematical physicist who enjoys applying my research techniques to a wide range of problems beyond the horizons of purely research (such as as problems of network design, card shuffling and optical fibres). My research interests centre around complete integrability, both in the classical and quantum regimes.Meetings:
I have overseen several meetings. Over recent years we have been a node of the LMS supported Classical and Quantum Integrability workshop series with the Edinburgh meetings
- 2022: Integrability and Applied Algebraic Geometry
- 2019: Integrability and Twistor Theory
- 2015: Particle Collisions, Geometry and Representation Theory
- 2013: Integrability and Hyperbolic Monopoles
- 2010: Integrability and Number Theory
- 2009: Computational Aspects of Riemann Surfaces and Integrable Systems
- 2008: AdS/CFT and Integrability
- 2007: Aspects of Finite Gap Integration
- 2006: Integrability and Monopoles
- 2005: The Bethe Ansatz and Integrable Structures
In 1998 I organised the EPSRC funded meeting, Integrability: the Seiberg-Witten & Witham Equations. In 1991 we held the inaugural ICMS meeting Physics and Geometry .
Groups:
The Edinburgh Mathematical PhysicsGroup meets regularly during term time.
