Facilities

Summary of facilities available to staff, students and visitors in the School of Mathematics, including baby changing and gender neutral bathrooms.

Bathrooms and baby changing facilities

The School of Mathematics is based across the James Clerk Maxwell Building and the Bayes Centre.

James Clerk Maxwell Building

The building has gender neutral bathrooms located on Level 1, Level 6 (opposite 6223) and Level 8 of the building. We are working on increasing the number of gender-neutral bathrooms in JCMB, and we will keep this page updated.

Baby changing facilities are located in the gender neutral bathrooms on Level 1.

The facilities on Level 1 are located at the start of the 14-- corridor (directly below 54--/64-- corridors). To find them:

  1. TakeĀ Stair B, or the lift next to it, all the way down to Level 1. Alternatively, enter the building through the automatic doors near teaching room 1206c.
  2. Then:
  • if taking the stairs: exit Stair B on the right hand side.
  • if taking the lift: exit the lift and turn right immediately (180 degrees).
  • if using the alternate building entrance: go straight ahead, around the lift.
  1. Enter the corridor leading to 1501.
  2. Pass the double doors into the carpeted area. The bathrooms are in a narrow corridor to the right (signposted as a fire exit).

These facilities are also accessible via the stairs at the end of the 54--/64-- corridors. On Level 1, exit the stairs to the left and walk up to the end of the corridor.

Bayes Centre

All bathrooms in the Bayes Centre are gender neutral.

Baby changing facilities are available in the accessible bathroom on the ground floor (G.Z21).
