EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account Funding Awards
Akshay Gupte, along with Andreas Grothey, Burak Buke and Alper Yldirim, have received EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account funding for a feasibility study with Applied Quantum Computing Ltd (AQC). The project will explore how the classical approaches for various operational problems in healthcare can be transformed to obtain more efficient methods utilising the potential of quantum computing.
The same team, this time headed by Alper Yildirim, has also received EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account funding for a feasibility study with Police Scotland (PS). Any mismatch between the available resources of PS and the demand faced may adversely affect response times, quality of service, public or officer safety, and the utilisation of resources. By utilising data on past incidents, this project aims to develop an optimal data-driven resourcing system for PS by interfacing a comprehensive simulation model with an optimization model.
