Biographical Statement

I hold a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship at the School of Mathematics of the University of Edinburgh.

My education and research were hosted at the University of Ioannina, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Vienna, and more recently the University of Glasgow, where I gained experience at undergraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral level. Between 2014-2017, I was a Daphne Jackson Trust Research Fellow at the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, funded jointly by EPSRC and Edinburgh University. Between 2017-2020, I was a Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Research Fellow at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Glasgow.

My research originally lay in the area of birational geometry, yet since then I have been interested in the interplay between algebra, geometry and statistics. My research interests have expanded to include algebraic statistics, phylogenetic algebraic geometry, computational commutative algebra and applied algebraic geometry.
