ICMS launches Mathematics for Humanity Programme
Prof. Minhyong Kim, Director of ICMS, is leading a new programme which aims to use education, research, and scholarly exchange activities to improve mathematics' contribution to the betterment of society. The programme is split into three themes (Integrating the global research community, Mathematical challenges for humanity, and global history of mathematics), and prospective funding applicants are encouraged to discuss their ideas with Prof. Kim or Beatrice Pelloni, ICMS Deputy Director.
Prof. Kim was interviewed by the Simons Foundation online publication Quanta about the programme and its goals. Read the article here.
