Vanda Inacio awarded RS International Exchange Grant

Vanda Inacio has been awarded a Royal Society International Exchange grant to collaborate with Joaquin Martinez-Minaya, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia. Fast-evolving healthcare technology leads to many devices being developed with the goal of finding a cheaper, non-invasive and safer method/device to test patients. To achieve that, it is mandatory to check that the new device is as accurate as the current gold standard device. Accurately inferring about agreement metrics is therefore of the uttermost importance. This project "How good is this medical device? Bayesian mixed models for agreement measures" will develop Bayesian approaches for agreement metrics for the case of multiple measurements, made on a continuous scale per individual. Applications will include the study of the agreement between rapid point of care glucose monitoring devices and laboratory testing in diabetic patients.
