International 2+2 Programme
The School of Mathematics has an agreement with some international universities which allows students to study for two years at their home university, and then transfer to The University of Edinburgh to complete a further two years of study. This is known as a "2+2" agreement.
On successful completion of the 4th year at Edinburgh, the students graduate with a degree awarded by The University of Edinburgh. It is also possible to complete a 5th year of study in Edinburgh and graduate with an MMath "integrated masters" degree.
What can I study?
The 2+2 Programme allows you to enter into the 3rd year of the following programmes:
- BSc (Hons) Applied Mathematics
- BSc (Hons) Mathematics
- BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics
- MA (Hons) Mathematics
- MMath (Hons) Mathematics
- MMath (Hons) Applied Mathematics

Entrance requirements
We do not have a list of specific courses and required scores for your studies in China. We will make a decision to accept you based on:
- what you have studied,
- how well you have performed,
- how well your course matches to one of ours,
- your English language ability.
The decision will also be based on an interview with you in China in March/April, conducted by a representative of the School of Mathematics.
Before we can accept your application, you need to pass an IELTS test with a score of at least 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
