PhD Opportunities
Projects in Applied and Computational Mathematics
The Maxwell Institute Graduate School in Modelling, Analysis & Computation (MAC-MIGS) offers great opportunites for postgraduate research in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Edinburgh. MAC-MIGS is a 4-year PhD programme focussed on the formulation, analysis and implementation of state-of-the-art mathematical and computational models. It offers up to 15 fully-funded places every year and an exciting range of projects, including some of those described below. Consult the MAC-MIGS web page for details of the programme and its application procedure.
Other opportunities are available through the Applied & Computational Mathematics PhD (see also the School's Postgraduate Research pages) and, for projects in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, through the Edinburgh Earth, Ecology & Environment NERC DTP. Contact possible supervisors who will be able to advise on the best route to secure a PhD place.
PhD projects are offered on the topics listed below.
