I received my PhD from the Centre for Doctoral Training in Mathematics of Planet Earth at the University of Reading in December 2019. My PhD research focused on the use of correlated observation error covariance matrices in variational data assimilation problems, and was conducted with colleagues from the mathematics and meteorology departments as well as the Met Office. January - May 2020 I undertook a semester postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Mathematics at Brown University, joining the programme on Model and dimension reduction in uncertain and dynamic systems.
