Biographical Statement
I was born in Athens, Greece and received my undergraduate training in Applied Mathematics and Physics at the National Technical University of Athens in 2005, and my MSc and PhD from University of Warwick in 2005 and 2008. I later held a David Crighton fellowship at the University of Cambridge, and further postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford and the Swiss-Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne. Before moving to Edinburgh I held a permanent position at the University of Southampton (Mathematics). In 2011 I was awarded Leslie Fox prize (IMA, UK) in Numerical Analysis. My research interests span a variety of different areas including numerical analysis, computational statistics as well as applications of stochastic processes in physics, chemistry and biology
