Public lecture series about crystallography

As 2014 is the International Year of Crystallography, the University of Edinburgh is hosting a series of public lectures talking about aspects of crystallography from ancient history to current research. The lecture series features 7 Edinburgh scientists from across a range of subjects, including the School of Mathematics' Will Donovan on 3rd June discussing "The frontiers of symmetry". Talks are Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm (doors from 6pm), weekly from 13 May to 24 June, at Summerhall (on the east edge of the Meadows). The speakers will aim their talks at age 16+, but anybody is welcome to attend. The talks are free but ticketed, as there is limited space in our lecture theatre.
