Financial mathematics prizes

In November 2011 the School of Mathematics was host to a Financial Mathematics "Career Talk and Prize Presentation" event where:

  • Daniel Tait received a prize for achieving first-place in the Financial Mathematics competition organised by Deloitte for Honours students of Scottish universities. The prize is awarded each year to the most distinguished student in a Financial Mathematics course in Scotland, so Daniel had to beat off strong competition from many different universities. He will receive a prize of £400, while the University receives a trophy to be held for a year until a new winner is crowned.

  • Vice President and Senior Vice President of the State Street Investment Analytics presented 'The State Street Prize' to the best perfoming student in the Financial Mathematics MSc programme. This year the prize was shared by two students:  Michael McSweeney & Jose Gregorio Rodriguez Villarreal.

Congratulations to Daniel, Michael and Jose!
