Student article features in actuary magazine

One of our 4th year undergraduate students, Ruth Penny, has had an article about her summer project work featured in the magazine The Actuary. She and her supervisor William Scott wrote the piece after working with the UK's only independent savings bank, Airdrie Savings Bank, which has been established since 1835. It is unique in having a board of trustees chosen from the local community, who receive no remuneration for their work and who decide how best to reinvest any profits into the bank and local community.
