Forensic Statistics and Edinburgh

The 10th International Conference on Forensic Inference and Statistics was held in Minneapolis on September 6th to 8th, 2017. Colin Aitken, Amy Wilson and Ya-ting (Sabrina) Chang from the School of Mathematics attended. All gave presentations. Amy Wilson also had a poster about a European research programme, Software for the Analysis and Implementation of Likelihood Ratios (SAILR), co-ordinated by the Netherlands Forensic Institute, in which she and Colin Aitken are involved. Sabrina Chang was a recipient of a Young Investigator Travel Award supported by the Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE, Iowa State University) and also chaired an afternoon session.  Selected papers from the conference will be published in the journal 'Law, Probability and Risk', of which Colin Aitken was the Founding Editor-in-Chief.
