Xue Gong Receives SIAM and Edinburgh Teaching Awards

Xue Gong, a 4th year MAC-MIGS student, received an Outstanding Talk Award during the September SIAM Networks NS22 Workshop for her Lightning talk on "Generative Hypergraph Models and Spectral Embedding" (joint work with supervisors Des Higham and Kostas Zygalakis). A team of experts evaluated the workshop talks on content and delivery, with special attention given to talks presented by early-career researchers not associated with the organisation of the event. Three lightning talks were selected from 30 contributors and were awarded $250 USD each.

Xue also received the Edinburgh Teaching Award (Category 1, equivalent to the Associate Fellowship of HEA) which provides national recognition of teaching practice. More information about the Award can be found here.
