ICMS workshop: Harmonic Analysis and Partial Differential Equations

Martin Dindos and Tadahiro Oh from our school organised a 5 day workshop "Harmonic Analysis and Partial Differential Equations" at ICMS from 27 - 31 July, 2015.The aim of the workshop was to bring together the researchers in Harmonic Analysis and different branches of Partial Differential Equations (elliptic, parabolic, dispersive, hyperbolic, and stochastic). We had about 50 participants from different areas of analysis and PDEs and the event was a great success.Beside one-hour research talks, we also had

  • Two lectures series by Prof. Patrick Gerard (Orsay) and Prof. Marius Mitrea (Missouri).
  • Public lecture by Prof. Rodolfo Torres (Kansas) on "Fourier blues: How mathematics explains some of the beautiful blue colors in birds and other animals"
  • Poster session by younger participants.

Slides for some talks are available at: http://www.icms.org.uk/workshops/harmonicPDEHere is a link to some photos: https://www.facebook.com/ICMS.Edinburgh(This is the facebook page of ICMS. Look for an article on 31 July, 2015.)
