Postdoctoral Research Associate in Optimization

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in optimization in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The post is available from 1st September 2016 for a 3 year fixed term contract.The successful candidate will join the Edinburgh Research Group in Optimization and participate in the EPSRC funded project "Randomized Algorithms for Extreme Convex Optimization". The postdoc will become a member of the Big Data Optimization group and will work closely with Dr Peter Richtarik. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and creative individual with a Ph.D. in Optimization, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field, and will have strong track record. Prior experience with convex optimization, randomized algorithms, complexity analysis, and high-performance computing is welcome.
