Statistical crime fighters: improving forensic science

The impact of research carried out in the School of Mathematics has been demonstrated in several Case Studies submitted for the Research Excellence Framework 2014. One of these, featuring the work by Professor Aitken on the intepretation of forensic evidence using Bayesian statistics, is now highlighted on the University of Edinburgh's Impact webpages.
