Two 4th year undergraduates have submitted a research paper as part of the vacation scholarship scheme

Two of our 4th year undergraduate students, Edward Eriksson and Wenqi Ni, have, in collaboration with their supervisor Theo Assiotis, submitted a research paper as part of the vacation scholarship scheme (VSS). The paper, currently under review, focuses on certain generalised moments of random matrices which are studied via a connection to the combinatorics of some rational convex polytopes. It is rare for undergraduate research to produce interesting new results in an active research topic, so this is an exceptional achievement for these students!

The purpose of the VSS is to provide an opportunity for final year students to undertake an independent research project in any academic field of study.
