Adri Olde Daalhuis has been awarded a three year grant by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The project titled 'Implementable Uniform and Exponentially-Improved Asymptotics' will aim to develop the first efficient implementations of several new techniques in applied mathematics especially for the fields of uniform and exponentially-improved aysmptotics. The new implementations will be very useful for the users of the NIST Digital Library of Mathematical Functions (DLMF) because these types of asymptotics are mentioned at many places in the DLMF, but so far, most users will have no idea how they can be used.
