New grants awarded

The School of Mathematics would like to congratulate James Maddison and Martin Kalck on their recent grant success.

James Maddison has been awarded a NERC New Investigator Award worth over £330,000 for the project "Implementation and optimisation of geostrophic eddy parameterisations in ocean circulation models".  One postdoc will also work on this project.

Martin Kalck has been awarded an EPSRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship worth over £310,000 for the project "Homological interactions between singularity theory, representation theory and algebraic geometry".  Martin will join the Hodge Institute in April.
