School of Mathematics

Contours magazine published

Last week heralded the publication of the very first magazine of the School of Mathematics. Called Contours, this magazine was designed, written and edited by mathematics undergraduates, with a little help from staff members David Jordan and Julia Collins. The magazine is designed to bridge the gap between staff and students, allowing students to find out what the life of a mathematician is like, what drives mathematicians in their research and how people get into academic careers. Students paired up to interview their chosen lecturer and wrote up articles based on those interviews.

The graphic design of the magazine was done by 3rd year undergraduate David Selby.

You can take a look at Contours online, visit JCMB 6315 to pick up a copy, or just look for copies around the University!
