MSc Student Projects
Find out more about how to get involved with our MSc projects and read example summaries of our varied and interesting topics.
The School of Mathematics run MSc programmes in the areas of
Statistics
Financial Mathematics
Operational Research
Computational Applied Mathematics
A major part of each of these programmes is a dissertation completed over the summer using all of the skills learned during the two taught semesters of the year. For our Statistics with Data Science students, this takes the form of a set of consultancy-style projects and for all other programmes this is an individual project completed over 12 weeks.
We are enthusiastic to offer our students the opportunity to work on their project with external partners. This gives companies access to talented MSc students and, because each project is under the joint supervision with a member of our School, this can provide a simple mechanism for organisations to start interacting with academia on research issues.
