Study spaces

The School of Mathematics has invested in dedicated spaces for our students to meet up and study, on top of all the facilities available University-wide.

MathsBase

The MathsBase is our dedicated study and help centre for first year mathematics students, located in KB House at the King's Buildings campus. You can use the space to work with other mathematics students. Tutors from the Year 1 mathematics courses also run drop-in sessions here, and are often on hand throughout the day to offer support.

MathsHub

The MathsHub is an informal social and study space for mathematics students, located in rooms 5310, 5311 and 5312 in the James Clerk Maxwell Building at the King's Buildings campus. As well as a small kitchen and several sofas, there are large tables for working in groups, and an adjoining room for quiet study.

University Libraries

As well as School-specific facilities, you will also have access to the University's general facilities including the University Libraries. This includes the Murray Library (King's Buildings) which houses most of the mathematics books and journals, and the Main Library (George Square) which is one of the largest academic libraries in the world. The Main Library in George Square is available for students to use 24/7.
