Introduction
I am a Reader in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh.
As a member of the Technology Enhanced Mathematical Sciences Education Theme, my duties include:
- teaching undergaduates, e.g. in the Year 4 Mathematical Education course and the fully online course, Fundamentals of Algebra and Calculus,
- contributing to the development of new and technology-enhanced approaches to teaching, learning and assessment,
- conducting research in mathematics education, particularly linked to technology-enhanced education.
I was formerly a PhD student in the School – I studied harmonic analysis under the supervision of Tony Carbery.
I have been involved in mathematics eduction since high school, when I co-founded the website Higher Still Notes with my partner — we still run this business in our spare time, providing resources for Scottish maths teachers.
