AN OVERVIEW OF ENERGY-RELATED ACTIVITY AT EDINBURGH NAPIER UNIVERSITY
Monday 15 July 2019 at 13:00-14:00, JCMB 5323

Abstract

The School of Engineering at Edinburgh Napier University has a long experience working in energy-related areas from traditional electricity generation and distribution to renewables. With the increased attention in areas such as data science and machine learning, the School of Computing is also active in these areas. This talk summarises the range of historical and current work in relation to energy, highlighting a small number of example studies and defining areas of particular expertise. In addition to the interest of hearing about Napier’s work, there will also be opportunity afterwards (both in the 1 hour session and in side discussion afterwards) to discuss opportunities for collaboration with the group at Napier. In particular, applied research and industry links at Napier are likely to complement Edinburgh methodology expertise, and even more specifically we hope to look to join opportunities in the Data Drive Innovation programme.
