A decentralised optimal power flow solution for interconnected power systems using an interior point method

Under power market environments, the information exchange between neighbouring control areas is limited so that no commercially sensitive information is disclosed. Therefore, optimal power flow (OPF) calculation has to be decomposed into several sub-problems in different control areas, with small amount of information exchange to other control areas. Here an OPF decomposition method is proposed, and an interior point method (IPM) is applied to solve the decomposed problem.
