My Research

bolt's law My research has covered boundary conditions for the numerical solution of PDEs that are relevant to geophysical fluids, Landau damping in both toy models and real fluids, and radiative instability of 2d vortices.

My PhD is funded by NERC— the Natural Environment Research Council.

Teaching

In 2011 I designed and delivered a course on MATLAB for students studying financial mathematics and financial modelling and optimization MSc courses at Edinburgh, which involved a combination of lectures and practical sessions.

I have also been 'colloquium resident expert', whose job it is to provide feedback for postgraduate students speaking at one of the postgraduate mathematics colloquia.
