Whether you are going for a meal in a restaurant deep in one of the Ulster Scots speaking regions or just having a snack or a cup of tea at home, you might want to be able to ask for food and drink in Ulster Scots, or to understand what other people are offering you. In this lesson, we'll look at some phrases and vocabulary to enable you to do just that.
I was in a restaurant with some friends from England recently where I was asked to translate some of the items on the menu so it might be good to start with some local food which is usually marked in menus in the local tongue.
