I am a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Mathematics, Univeristy of Edinburgh. I completed my PhD in Applied and computational mathematics in 2013, after which I worked in a number of technical roles in industry before returning to academia in 2015. I am currently involved in a collaborative research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust, working with Anna Lisa Varri (Institute of Astronomy) and Douglas Heggie (School of Mathematics), see my Research page for more details.
On the personal side of things I was born and grew up in the Republic of Ireland. Though I attended unveristy in UK and have lived here for many years. In my spear time, I like to go hiking usally with my son strapped to my back, who seems to really like the experince too. I also really enjoy travelling and was fortunately enough to take about 6 months off to travel with my wife (some of our adventures are in her travel blog happypassports)
