I am primarily interested in representation theory, in particular I am fascinated by the intersection of representation theory and combinatorics. The classical examples of this are the representation theory of the symmetric groups or the representations of semi-simple lie algebras. A more modern example is the idea of a crystal basis for a quantum group.
