Entry to Mathematics programmes at Edinburgh is very competitive: we receive a large number of applications to our undergraduate degree programmes and will not be able to make offers to everyone who applies. All applications received before the UCAS deadline of January 15th will be given equal consideration. This means that we will be sending out most of our offers after this date.
Our programmes will suit you if you have an enquiring mind, a genuine interest in Mathematics and want to take your talent for the subject as far as possible.
Entry requirements and related information can be found on the University's Undergraduate Degrees pages. Please note the following points:
More information for applicants to the College of Science and Engineering, including typical offers to EU applicants, can be found on their Entry Requirements page.
Please see University Admissions for further information including statistics on the numbers of applicants and offers made in previous years.
Applicants from outwith the UK will find further details on our Overseas Applicants pages.
See also the non-UK qualifications links for each programme on the University's Undergraduate Degrees pages.
For the degree programmes listed below it is possible to go directly into the second year of the course if you achieve the grades shown in our prospectus. It is usually possible to switch between standard entry to Year 1 ("Broad Programme") and Direct Entry to Year 2 once you arrive in Edinburgh as long as you have the necessary qualifications and do well in our diagnostic test.
