Research Interests

My research interests lie in developing exact and heuristic models and algorithms to solve combinatorial optimizazion problems, taking uncertainty and reliability issues into account. More specifically, I focus on large-scale logistics problems, including facility location and network design, sales districting, and service scheduling, some of them in collaboration with companies. On a theoretical side, I am interested in combining different disciplines from mathematics and computer science, like combinatorial optimization, complexity theory, algorithmic design, computational geometry, and calculus, to obtain structural results and exact solution approaches, e.g., for facility location problems with spatially distributed demand.
