Sjoerd de Ridder awarded the J. Clarence Karcher Award

Congratulations to our Whittaker Research Fellow for Industry, Sjoerd de Ridder who has been awarded the J. Clarence Karcher Award by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).  This honour is in recognition of Sjoerd's novel work on utilizing surface waves from ambient noise for exploration.

The award is given in recognition of significant contributions to the science and technology of exploration geophysics by a young geophysicist of outstanding abilities who, in the unanimous opinion of the SEG Honours and Awards Committee and the Board of Directors, merits such recognition.

Sjoerd will receive his award during SEG's 2017 Annual Meeting in Houston, USA in September 2017.
