Applications for PhD Study

Please note that all of our available funding has now been allocated for the Academic Year 2013 - 2014.
Obtaining funding is an important part of studying for a PhD in Mathematics. All applicants are encouraged to check the University's Scholarships and Students Funding Services website for information on funding opportunities and to apply for any funding for which they meet the eligibility criteria.
The Graduate School of Mathematics is a part of the School of Mathematics, which is a part of the College of Science and Engineering, which is a part of the University of Edinburgh.
The Graduate School is responsible for students doing research degrees: Ph.D. or the M.Sc. by Research. If you are interested in taught postgraduate degrees: the M.Sc. in Mathematics, the M.Sc. in Operational Research or the M.Sc. in Financial Mathematics please visit the MSc website .
PG is the standard University of Edinburgh abbreviation for postgraduate. There are currently over 50 PG students in the Graduate School, working for PhDs in all areas of mathematics.
