Education Background

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment: As part of the recruitment team I help to organise Open and Visiting Days for applicants and write publicity material. I am an Associate Liaison Officer for the University and attend Higher Education fairs across the UK.

Outreach: I am involved in maintaining links with local schools and help organise revision sessions for Higher and Advanced Higher pupils. I act as a 'hub' for the FunMaths Roadshow; materials may be borrowed by schools free of charge. Along with my colleague Julia Collins I encourage staff and students to become involved in public engagement activities and organise the School's contribution to the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

Teaching: I help teach the fourth year Mathematical Education course. I run a refresher course for Social Work students and am Course Coordinator for mathematics for the LEAPS summer school. I help support new postgraduate tutors.

Pastoral:I am a Personal Tutor and Deputy Senior Tutor.
