OR41 Pollock Halls

From St Leonard's to St Trinian's

The School which inspired the St Trinian's stories was once at St Leonard's Hall within what is now the Pollock Halls. The school was progressive but perhaps not as wild as in the St Trinian's stories ... or was it?

The Modern Halls

The accomodation and Lectures for OR41 are at the Pollock Halls, which are University of Edinburgh Halls of residence (see Pollock Map). There are within two miles of the centre of Edinburgh and beside the Queen's Park, which stretches from here to Holyrood Palace and the site of the New Scottish Pariament (see Edinburgh Map). Arthurs Seat this the extinct volcano in the park in the picture below. This is a great place for walking and jogging and has superb views over Edinburgh. It is a famous geological site. Hutton's section, which settled the argument between the Neptunists and the Vulcanists, is 300 meters from the Halls.
