Maths venture to help banks cut risks

On Thursday, 4th November, the Inaugural Risk Colloquium of the Scottish Financial Risk Academy (SFRA) took place in central Edinburgh (Bryce Hall, The Mound). The SFRA was established in 2010 by the University of Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University, through their joint research institute, The Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences http://www.sfra.ac.uk/RiskAcademyFlyer2010.pdf with a £335,000 grant from the Scottish Funding Council.
