Incorporation of wind energy to electricity generation system
ERGO Optimization day: Thursday 18 August 2005 at 16.30, JCMB 5327

Abstract

This talk presents different mathematical optimisation models for the problem of incorporation of wind power unit to the electricity generation system which includes hydro and thermal genarators of different prices. We consider deterministic cases among which there are working out a suboptimal solution of short-term planning; finding the optimal solution when there are several expensive generators running at zero; introducing flexibility variable to meet an unepected drop of wind speed or icreasing of demand. There is also a stochastic case where diferent scenarios represent a change in generated wind power. The results of these models can be used for 1-hour sheduling of electricity generation after incorporating wind power to the system.
